For the first time ever, DECA U is super excited to present a rendition of the TV show, Dragon's Den. Likewise to the actual Dragon's Den, all attendees will be grouped together at Project X and be put to the test in marketing a product, service, or company prototype within a confined amount of time. This pitch will be evaluated by 'dragons' who are industry professionals from the sponsoring organization of this competitive event. The top team will receive a grand prize from the sponsoring firm of the Dragon's Den challenge and possibly from other co-partners of the event. This segment of the summit is sure to be a huge hit and will test every single attendee, but, enhance friendly competition and insights about entrepreneurship. You may be wondering, who is the sponsoring firm? Hint: it may be one of event partners indicated later on in this package.
DECA U is proud to have uMentioned on board as one of the partners for Project X. uMentioned is a social discovery network that allows users to compliment, question, and flirt with people of interest on various university campuses throughout Canada. Before the summit kicks off with DECA U's rendition of Dragon's Den, uMentioned's executives will share their entrepreneurship story, a brief background of their organization, and tips on how to pitch effectively. This will provide all attendees with some good preparatory tools for the Dragon's Den pitch competition without fully revealing the exact details of the Dragon's Den event just yet. Let the friendly competition and suspense begin.
